Common specialized transformers include rectifier transformers, furnace transformers, special frequency transformers, and test transformers. For example, rectifier transformers are used in DC power supply or high-voltage DC transmission systems, and their windings and insulation design must withstand DC bias and non-sinusoidal currents. Furnace transformers are mainly used in electric arc furnaces and electrolysis processes, requiring the ability to output high current and low voltage, and to withstand frequent short circuits and impact loads.
There are also transformers adapted to special environments or functions, such as explosion-proof transformers, moisture-proof and salt spray-proof transformers, and mobile transformers, used in mining, coastal, or mobile power supply scenarios. Specialized transformers often have higher requirements for materials, cooling, insulation, and protection technologies, emphasizing safety, reliability, and durability in their design to meet the needs of specific industries or operating conditions.
